Pros:It's a Toshiba product so I knew it would work just fine with my Toshiba laptop. It's small enough so that it takes up very little room in my case.Cons:It isn't "powered" so you have to pay attention to how many and what kind of item's you plug into it.That isn't so much of a con as it is a note of interest.Oh yeah, one final pro:You just can't beat the price/quality ratio.Buy it,you'll like it.
This hub will not power USB devices such as charging your iPod or powering a thumbdrive. I'm not sure what I'm really going to use it for now.
This is my second Toshiba USB 2.0 mini hub. Works great. I ran the first sitting one on a metal filing cabinet beside my desk, where it shorted out after a couple of months. It's on wood now and solidly adhered and I expect it to last for some time.
Does not need an external power supply. Bought to make the rear USB 2.0 ports accessable, and it works. Works with external US hard drive and Norton Ghost 2003. Has a solid feel to it, and a single green LED. The feet are are a strange clear substance, and one came off and stuck to my PC, so that's why I gave it four out of five.
It is (of course) made in China but what isn't these days. Doesn't come with it though.
USB 2.0 connectivity. Gives you four ports all sprinting at 480MBPs speed.
Does what it states. It also has a connector on one side that would support an AC/DC transformer of 5V/110mA.
One of the ports is offset a bit for your larger connectors or for a flash drive. Has two sticky rubber pads as feet that prevent it from sliding around.
All-in-all gives you four ports of guaranteed quality high speed USB 2.0 at a low cost. It's worth the money.
